My favorite Thai in Amsterdam! Delicious food and very kind and fast service. Great range of options, varying from chicken with ginger and mushrooms to deer or wild boar to vegetarian dishes. All served with a genuine Thai smile!

Been back every year at IBC time since being introduced to this resturant.
Food is incredibly fresh and flavorful and basically cooked in front of you or at least in plain site. Its not far from the Okura where my company stays every year and I always "sneak" away for some of it.

This visit I had Spring Rolls, Pad Thai, and Chicken Fried Rice- I packed and left with approx 50% of what I was served boxed up, and it made for a great late nite meal at the hotel.

The Pad Thai was superb, crunchy veggies, fresh onion, and egg with the right amount of meat, the noodles had justest right amount of firmness. Fantastic.

Rice- Same, superb. Spring rolls, excellent.

The portions are generous, (and Im an American) and I've never left hungry.

If you are in Amsterdam its worth the walk, ride, or cab to try it.

Heerlijk Thais eten. Authentieke sfeer. Super-vriendelijke mensen die er werken. Hangt een familiaire sfeer. Absoluut een aanrader.

Lekker Thais gegeten, bediening was prettig en snel. Ik had de groene curry met kip, Thaise groenten en rijst. Het was voldoende maar niet een overdreven grote portie.
Aankleding was Ok, niet echt gezellig, maar het eten maakte veel goed.

Do not get the Thai tea here. I watched them literally pour 1/4 black oishi tea from a bottle and called it thai tea. What an up charge for just store bought tea… Then I asked to order a fried egg and the waiter told me it would cost 2.50 and the cooks didn't have time to make the fried egg…

The pad thai tasted good but was disappointed and felt deceived on their version of "Thai tea".

Food tasted ok, although very small potions for that price. What we were very borher about was that we were waiting more that 1 hour for the food and we kept seeing delivery orders going out from our table. So in the hours we were waiting for the food more than 10 orders went out to be delivered.. staff is friendly but not coming back definetly.

I have been to many thai restaurants in amsterdam, and this is the one i keep coming back to.
The staff is very ! friendly, the atmosphere is excellent. The open kitchen is on the left when u enter the restaurant. The ladies in the kitchen work very hard, and the food they produce is just top notch.
You can reserve a table (dont forget, as it is very busy most of the times!) or order food to take home. No delivery unfortunately.
Please do go to this Thai restaurant if you love Thai food, their tom Kha Khai is yummmmie!!

Geen idee wat er aan de hand is. We hebben hier vaker heerlijk eten afgehaald, maar de laatste keer waren de gerechten flets en de ingrediënten – rijst en groenten – duidelijk niet vers. Toch 2 sterren vanwege eerdere kwaliteit.

I love it. My friend had mixed opinions. It was too spicy for her but many things are.
It' a small place so it smells great and really works up your appetite. The kitchen it right up front. It's clean and fun to watch the cooks at work.
I've tried a couple of the vegetarian dishes and always enjoyed them.
I've always liked the coconut ice cream served in a coconut shell but the last time we ordered it looked old and freezer burned like it had been sitting in the back of fridge for months. When we pointed it out they were quite nice, and apologized saying it was the last one but didn't charge us for it.

First–I am not comparing this to actual Thai food, I came here fully expecting subpar interpretation of mass produced Thai food for Westerners–it is awful by that standard. It is awful by the standard of what I would expect to be served on a discount Asian airline. Expect parang curry without sauce. Or pad Thai without peanuts or spring rolls without any filling…it's the Thai food equivalent of what can be microwaved. Here's the best part–when we told them it wa bad. They said it was my problem. They should apologize the the kind people Thailand for making their food so bad.

Best, most authentic Thai I have had in Amsterdam so far. Easy for a vegetarian. Everything I have had has tons of flavor. Sometimes it is more sweet or spicy than other times but I just specify and it's perfect. The ladies who cook are all very sweet. As with many places in Amsterdam, it can take what feels like forever to get your food but it's worth the wait.

Best pad Thai ever!

Voor €40,- aan Thais eten gehaald bij deze tent. Eerste en laatste keer! Groente is zo groot en rauw, KrabPauw zou ik besteld hebben. Ik krijg toaal wat anders. Komt niet eens in de buurt. Ananas in de currie, echt not done ook!

I order Laab Kai and Tom Yak Plaa for takeaway. The people in the restaurant were extremely friendly, typical Thai. The food was wonderful, the Laab Kai could have used a bit more fish sauce. I would give 4,5 stars if possible but as that’s not possible -> 5 stars.

Bij dit restaurant haal ik al jaren Thais. Het is erg klein maar wil je echt Thais eten moet je hier zijn. Naast erg vriendelijk personeel is het eten echt super.
Vind de prijs soms een beetje aan de hoge kant maar de kwaliteit maakt het goed.
Erg jammer dat ze hun restaurant in Amstelveen hebben gesloten.
Geen geld om naar Thailand te gaan ga dan hier heen het komt het dichtste bij in de buurt van de Thaise ervaring.

Echt maar 3 sterren waard.
De curry was goed. De sate werd niemand blij van en de pad thai was ook medium.

Pluspunt geen plastic bakjes!

The service was okay at first as my apetizer came pretty fast, a tom yam soup. But then the main dishes took forever to make. I estimate we were waiting for more than an hour in total for those.

When they finally came, 2 curries, one green and one red, they turned out very bland and not the usual level of spiciness that I'd expect from a Thai restaurant. Especially the green curry was a disappointment.

I'm not going back here, sadly, as I liked the ambiance and the way they laid out the tables.

Wonderful people running the place and good food. I only do take away from here though.

My friend and I were starving and really glad we found this place not too far from where we stayed. It was just opening time and they were quite busy. I took that as a good sign. We did have to wait a bit, as they had many orders for pick up. When our food finally came we were pleased. It was delicious. If I am back in the area, I will definitely stop by here again!

Prima prijzen en lekker eten.

This has been our favorite Thai in Holland for about a decade now. The one dish you have to try – as we’ve found it to be one of the best ever – is Pad Thai: thin noodles, own recipe for fish sauce, spicy yet super flavorful, not oily but “dry” yet stir fried. When you check other reviewers you’ll see the Pad Thai mentioned often. That’s for a reason. Super nice & sweet people, great service, and very hard working. Love them!

I’ve had dinner here and ordered takeaway numerous times. The food is tasty and reasonably priced with more authentic flavors than what you often encounter in Amsterdam. The interior is a bit old but charming and the atmosphere very relaxed. The service is friendly. My only issue is that servings of rice are a bit small and I think it’s odd to charge for extra but it’s not a big deal.

Heerlijk eten voor een hele leuke prijs. Super lieve mensen. Je moet echt weten dat het restaurant er zit maar als je er eenmaal bent geweest. Toppers. Rijst in de vorm van een hart op je bord.

Gisteravond na het werk met een collega wilden wij eten halen. Beiden bestelden wij een saté en ok bestelde een losse bak gebakken rijst. Het gezamenlijke bedrag was €18 ( 2x€7 voor de saté en €4 voor de bevallen rijst) na afrekenen en wachten op ons eten vertelde de jonge man dat ik nog €11 moest betalen… ik vroeg waarom waarop hij mij vertelde dat dat nog betaald moest worden voor de gebakken rijst……
Dus ik betaal €15 euro voor een bakkie rijst vroeg ik hem. Waarom de eigenaresse en de kok mij de wind van voren gaven en zeiden dat je geen rijst alleen kan bestellen, alleen volledige menu’s. Prima zei ik maar zeg het dan alvorens je afrekend…. Dan heb ik een keuze het wel of niet te doen. De vrouw en kok bleven schreeuwen en vonden dit kennelijk normaal. Na de vraag van de jonge man of wij ons eten nog wilden hebben wij vriendelijk bedankt, geld terig gekregen en weggegaan. Mij zie je hier niet meer, jammer want ik moet heel eerlijk zeggen dat hun eten goed is dus raad ik het mbt het eten een ieder nog steeds aan maar de manier waarop ik door de kok en ( mogelijk) eigenaresse werd bejegend was ronduit onbeschoft. De jonge man was overigens erg behulpzaam en wilde de boel sussen, mijn respect voor hem.

We waited for our food for 2 hours. They don’t accept visa debit card and credit card. They wont let you know at the beginning.

Heerlijk Thais gegeten met goede versbereidde authentieke gerechten, en niet te vet. Bediening was ook zeer vriendelijk!

After some very disappointing Indonesian food, I was really hoping to have at least one good Asian meal in Amsterdam before I left.
This is THE place – ordered the green curry with prawns extra spicy. It was perfect!
I was drinking the leftover gravy after devouring everything else. And coconut ice cream which was ok.
So glad I found this place and gave it a shot.
Super nice server – family run so might be a bit of a wait to take your order and for the food to show up. But totally worth it.

Sfeer klein restaurant, heerlijk eten !

Een paar jaar geleden had ik hier ook al is gegeten en was is ziek geworden toen ik thuis kwam. Toen met mijn nieuwe partner ben ik weer is gaan eten op zijn aanraden maar was al niet zo vol meer van deze Thai aangezien de eerste keer eten daar me echt doodziek heeft gemaakt maar goed. Daar aan gekomen had ik een soep Tom Yang koeng besteld en een salade met kip gehakt met Thaise kruiden. De soep kreeg ik later dan mijn hoofdgerecht en proefde naar niets echt rioolwater zou nog beter smaken. En de kipgehakt salade was ook niet te eten en er zaten kruiden in met een vieze na smaak. Vriendelijk melden ik dat ik niet tegen de kruiden kon die ze er in hadden gedaan en toen zei de bedienster / kok ja daar kan ik niks aan doen dat is een traditionele Thaise salade. Ik had echt iets van pardon ik was zo woest. Echt een slechte service en klant onvriendelijk. Eet daar nooit meer! Ieder ander restaurant zou wat improviseren of je compenseren op de bon. Maar nee hoor gewoon de volle pond betalen van iets waar ik letterlijk maar 1 hap van had gegeten. Invervolg eet ik alleen maar bij Naan Naam in oud zuid waar ze goede service en heerlijk eten hebben.

Came here on the recommendation of other yelpers. Can't say that my experience was as good as theirs. Staff were friendly enough but we found the food way over seasoned with salt and pepper. I was not expecting the use of vermicelli for pad noodle dishes. The batter to fish ratio was way too high and could hardly taste the fish.

This difference in experience may be due to local tastes?

Awesome little place. Our favorites are the red curry with chicken and beef with long green bean. Small restaurant but worth it for the excellent food and service.

My pregnant wife and I were sat in the park when we discussed the idea of getting some thai cuisine. I had passed this restaurant on my bicycle on several occasions and so we decided to go there. The interior of the restaurant is small, ornate and quite charming. The staff were friendly and we ordered some spicy seafood soup (my pregnant wife) and a red chicken curry (me). The food was, frankly, delicious. Spicy and flavourful. Why, then, not 5 stars I hear you ask? The simple answer is that the portion sizes were slightly too small. For the price, we expected more rice and to be left full (especially as my wife is eating for two!!) We had a lovely time though. The food was high quality and we will certainly be returning to try out the rest of the menu!

Tasty little place for Thai food. This place is super tiny. Maybe 10ish tables and few of them Abe to accommodate large parties unless you get lucky. So, (especially) if you have more than 4 people and/or definitely want to get a table, call ahead for a reservation. The menu was larger than expected but tasty even though the dishes I was used to were prepared differently than I am used to.

Lekker Thais eten, de gebakken rijst alleen al is lekker

We’ve eaten here over the years and it is a neighborhood staple! We often order to go and get pad thai and green curry. The pad thai is on the drier side (less saucy) which is just how we like it. Eating in is also fun with a nice dining area and also the kitchen up front!

Nice Thai place in De Pijp. Service and the cooks were great. The ladies constantly checked on the food's flavor while they cooked. They put a lot of effort into the two dishes we ordered, the pad Thai and the beef curry. The result? Pipin' hot and fresh but too salty. I just wanted to keep drinking something after the meal. The spicy rating should be adjusted by removing a star in the current system. Again, too salty.

Normally good food, however, the has been getting service particularly awful. They take too many takeout orders and accept too many people walking in and staff is so reduced that wait times are extended to over an hour. Food was not as great as was the case before because they were so rushed- they're just throwing the ingredients together. Never again. Sorry guys you lost us.

Door de vele Thaise restaurantjes in Amsterdam ga je ze vaak over 1 kam scheren. In dit is ook gaan niet onterecht.
Toch zijn er een aantal zaakjes die qua eten echt erg goed zijn zoals ze in Thailand zelf koken!

Nou Tahi Deum is er zo eentje! Je moet je niet laten tegenhouden door de entree of de inrichting want die is zoals vele zaakjes echt bereslecht! Maar het eten is heel fijn!
