Best pad Thai ever!

Goed gegeten bij dit Thais restaurant aan de ceintuurbaan. De locatie is makkelijk bereikbaar met ov, met de auto wat minder vanwege de beperkte parkeergelegenheid. We zij rond 19uur zonder reservering binnengelopen en hadden het geluk dat we een tafel kregen, iets later zat de zaal vol.

We bestelden verschillende voorgerechten en twee hoofdgerechten. De masaman en een gerecht met zwijn. De voorgerecht waren goed op smaak. De masaman was prima maar heb het wel beter gegeten. Het zwijngerecht heb ik niet geproefd maar degene die hem had was er erg blij mee.

De sfeer in de zaak is gemoedelijk en inrichting voelt authentiek aan.

After some very disappointing Indonesian food, I was really hoping to have at least one good Asian meal in Amsterdam before I left.
This is THE place – ordered the green curry with prawns extra spicy. It was perfect!
I was drinking the leftover gravy after devouring everything else. And coconut ice cream which was ok.
So glad I found this place and gave it a shot.
Super nice server – family run so might be a bit of a wait to take your order and for the food to show up. But totally worth it.

I lived in Thailand for four years and this is the only place I can justify spending western prices on Thai dishes. I think the food is delicious and authentic. An absolute gem in my mind.

Eten was heerlijk. De serveerster was heel aardig.

A wonderfully authentic Thai taste for those with a love for Thai food. This is run by a Thai couple who are also the chefs. You can’t get much more authentic than this! A must try and you will be hooked Tom-Yum soup with Prawn is a big hit!

Heerlijke maaltijden voor een goeie prijs. In mijn ogen het beste thaise restaurant in Amsterdam. Voor een ieder die geen zin heeft om te koken een top uitkomst om of te halen of snel een hapje te gaan eten.

Gisteravond na het werk met een collega wilden wij eten halen. Beiden bestelden wij een saté en ok bestelde een losse bak gebakken rijst. Het gezamenlijke bedrag was €18 ( 2x€7 voor de saté en €4 voor de bevallen rijst) na afrekenen en wachten op ons eten vertelde de jonge man dat ik nog €11 moest betalen… ik vroeg waarom waarop hij mij vertelde dat dat nog betaald moest worden voor de gebakken rijst……
Dus ik betaal €15 euro voor een bakkie rijst vroeg ik hem. Waarom de eigenaresse en de kok mij de wind van voren gaven en zeiden dat je geen rijst alleen kan bestellen, alleen volledige menu’s. Prima zei ik maar zeg het dan alvorens je afrekend…. Dan heb ik een keuze het wel of niet te doen. De vrouw en kok bleven schreeuwen en vonden dit kennelijk normaal. Na de vraag van de jonge man of wij ons eten nog wilden hebben wij vriendelijk bedankt, geld terig gekregen en weggegaan. Mij zie je hier niet meer, jammer want ik moet heel eerlijk zeggen dat hun eten goed is dus raad ik het mbt het eten een ieder nog steeds aan maar de manier waarop ik door de kok en ( mogelijk) eigenaresse werd bejegend was ronduit onbeschoft. De jonge man was overigens erg behulpzaam en wilde de boel sussen, mijn respect voor hem.

Cute atmosphere but service was just okay and my Pad Thai tasted burnt. Chicken satays didn't have much flavor. I wouldn't return.

Authentic restaurant and food. Good quality. Service is this case was pretty bad, delivered wrong choice (chicken vs Shrimp). Waiter appeared very pushy, almost aggressive and unfriendly when he wanted to close restaurant. This should be improved!

Heerlijk gegeten bij Thai Deum, goede kwaliteit met Laotiaans tintje.

Heerlijk Thais gegeten met goede versbereidde authentieke gerechten, en niet te vet. Bediening was ook zeer vriendelijk!

Wat een heerlijk klein écht Thais restaurantje. De ontvangst en het vaarwel blijven je door het heerlijke enthousiasme absoluut bij….
Het eten (Pad Thai) was heerlijk. De sfeer is is niet meer helemaal van nu, maar ik hou er wel van…. Je waant je weer even in Thailand….

The cooking is fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was nice.

Best, most authentic Thai I have had in Amsterdam so far. Easy for a vegetarian. Everything I have had has tons of flavor. Sometimes it is more sweet or spicy than other times but I just specify and it's perfect. The ladies who cook are all very sweet. As with many places in Amsterdam, it can take what feels like forever to get your food but it's worth the wait.

I have been to many thai restaurants in amsterdam, and this is the one i keep coming back to.
The staff is very ! friendly, the atmosphere is excellent. The open kitchen is on the left when u enter the restaurant. The ladies in the kitchen work very hard, and the food they produce is just top notch.
You can reserve a table (dont forget, as it is very busy most of the times!) or order food to take home. No delivery unfortunately.
Please do go to this Thai restaurant if you love Thai food, their tom Kha Khai is yummmmie!!

Heel gezellig en heerlijke cuisine! De medewerkers zijn gastvrije en de keuken was heel leker! Een aanrader in Amsterdam!! Haartelijk bedankt!

We’ve eaten here over the years and it is a neighborhood staple! We often order to go and get pad thai and green curry. The pad thai is on the drier side (less saucy) which is just how we like it. Eating in is also fun with a nice dining area and also the kitchen up front!

Delicious food. My husband and I had a staple Thai place back in the states and I have no doubt this will become our staple in Amsterdam! Inside was very cozy with eclectic decorations. Food came quickly and staff was very friendly. Please note they do not take credit cards.

Nice quiet place where you can talk. Friendly owners. Food lacked flavour and freshness. Pad Thai had burned vegetables. Couldn’t taste the basil in the Kra-pauw.

Could not be happier. The staff were amazing and smiling always. Food was very good and wine filled to brim. Had the fish cake and squid with basil. Next time will ask for more basil. Staff makes it!! Very busy so expect for wait but worth the wait.

Door de vele Thaise restaurantjes in Amsterdam ga je ze vaak over 1 kam scheren. In dit is ook gaan niet onterecht.
Toch zijn er een aantal zaakjes die qua eten echt erg goed zijn zoals ze in Thailand zelf koken!

Nou Tahi Deum is er zo eentje! Je moet je niet laten tegenhouden door de entree of de inrichting want die is zoals vele zaakjes echt bereslecht! Maar het eten is heel fijn!

Been back every year at IBC time since being introduced to this resturant.
Food is incredibly fresh and flavorful and basically cooked in front of you or at least in plain site. Its not far from the Okura where my company stays every year and I always “sneak” away for some of it.

This visit I had Spring Rolls, Pad Thai, and Chicken Fried Rice- I packed and left with approx 50% of what I was served boxed up, and it made for a great late nite meal at the hotel.

The Pad Thai was superb, crunchy veggies, fresh onion, and egg with the right amount of meat, the noodles had justest right amount of firmness. Fantastic.

Rice- Same, superb. Spring rolls, excellent.

The portions are generous, (and Im an American) and I’ve never left hungry.

If you are in Amsterdam its worth the walk, ride, or cab to try it.

My pregnant wife and I were sat in the park when we discussed the idea of getting some thai cuisine. I had passed this restaurant on my bicycle on several occasions and so we decided to go there. The interior of the restaurant is small, ornate and quite charming. The staff were friendly and we ordered some spicy seafood soup (my pregnant wife) and a red chicken curry (me). The food was, frankly, delicious. Spicy and flavourful. Why, then, not 5 stars I hear you ask? The simple answer is that the portion sizes were slightly too small. For the price, we expected more rice and to be left full (especially as my wife is eating for two!!) We had a lovely time though. The food was high quality and we will certainly be returning to try out the rest of the menu!

Came here on the recommendation of other yelpers. Can’t say that my experience was as good as theirs. Staff were friendly enough but we found the food way over seasoned with salt and pepper. I was not expecting the use of vermicelli for pad noodle dishes. The batter to fish ratio was way too high and could hardly taste the fish.

This difference in experience may be due to local tastes?

Went with 4 people. Very cozy vibe, portion sizes were very generous and reasonably priced. Did have to wait a bit for the food, but you can tell that it’s made with love, fresh from the kitchen. Vegetarian options: Lots of soups, noodles and fried rice dishes for vegetarians.

Als inwoner van Bangkok, weet ik wel wat Thai’s eten is en kan ik natuurlijk wel beoordelen of het identiek is als “thuis” en ik moet constateren dat ze niet alleen Thais’s spreken (zoals ik) maar ook echt Thai’s kunnen koken. Great little restaurant. Massive menu – we asked for the best picks and were very happy with the suggestions. Excellent service! Yummy.

Delicious food, with quick and friendly service. A wide and varied menu with plenty of vegetarian options. The decor and ambiance were wonderful as well. The kitchen is open so you can watch the cooks from your table if you would like. We will definitely be coming back.

Authentiek Thais eten, vers gekookt, vers en smakelijk, ik begrijp niet waarom niemand dit restaurant kent? Ik hoop dat meer mensen ervoor kunnen kiezen om de groene curry kiprijst, Thaise garnalen gebakken rijst, heel goed te proberen👍❤️

The food here ranges from very solid to unbelievably delicious. The Tom Ka Khai soup in particular is a bowl of absolute lusciousness and will make you fall in love with Thai food all over again. Chicken satay are a little more delicious than average. One of the house "speciality" dishes, wild boar with red curry, was very good, and chock full of veggies, although my hubs found the boar itself a little tough. On another visit we tried green curry chicken as a comparison, and it had far fewer veggies and, perhaps as a result, not as complex or deep a flavor as the red curry boar. Spicy beef salad was a bit different that I am accustomed to, being made with ground beef rather than sliced, but the flavor was good, if a tiny bit too spicy for me. Tell them your spice level, because they work hard to then customize to you. The kitchen is right up and front and you can see, hear and smell all the cooking – a wonderful appetizer! The ladies running the kitchen could not be sweeter or more impressive with their works, and the server is also very friendly and remembered us after our first visit. This is *just* the kind of place I wish I had in my neighborhood, and would come here every week or two if I did. Stop by and enjoy.

Ik ben helaas nog nooit in Thailand geweest! Dus ik heb jammer genoeg nog geen kennis mogen maken met de 'echte' Thaise culinaire hoogstandjes! Conclusie: Ik zal het moeten doen met de menig Thaise eettentjes hier in Amsterdam. Gelukkig heb ik er nu een gevonden die ik jullie absoluut niet wil onthouden. Thai Deum op de Ceintuurbaan!

Een restaurantje waar je eerder voorbij loopt omdat het er niet heel aanlokkelijk uitziet. Bij Thai Deum moet je de uitspraak 'less is more' in de oren knopen. Want wat ze niet waarmaken met betrekking tot de ambiance, doen ze absoluut wel met betrekking tot het eten. Als je een ultiem fan bent van de Thaise keuken dan zal je een avond Thai Deum moeten inplannen. Ben je niet in de stemming om je tussen de mensen te begeven, kan je ook afhalen!!
De keuken van Thai Deum is open dus je kan fijn gluren om te kijken hoe zei jouw eten bereiden. De samenwerking van de dames en heren is leuk om te zien. Als de bediening even bezig is met de drankjes, brengt de chef het culinaire hapje persoonlijk naar je tafel. Thai Deum heeft een uitgebreide menukaart. Vaak blijf ik trouw aan mijn favorieten gerechten en daar ben ik dan ook altijd over te spreken.

Mensen dit is een top Thai! Gewoon doen!

I’ve been coming here since I just moved to Amsterdam 2,5 years ago. Until today, Thai Deum is still my favourite Thai restaurant in Amsterdam: delicious food for very reasonable prices. Their green curry is unbeatable. I’ll keep on being a loyal customer. See you soon!

Great homemade Thai food (without MSG!), very kind personnel and great atmosphere.

My favorite thai resturant in Amsterdam. Their fried rice is the best in town , it’s exactly like in Thailand even better than some resturant in Thailand i could say ! (Im thai so i know it 😂) Highly recommend to visit and tried thier food , the chefs are really friendly and polite. You won’t regret going there for sure, i garantee it:)

Geweldig lekker gegeten, de soepen zijn overheerlijk en op de hoofd gerechten valt helemaal niets aan te merken zelfs de prijs niet. Toppie lieve koks uit Thailand.

Best authentic Thai cuisine

Lekker Thais gegeten, bediening was prettig en snel. Ik had de groene curry met kip, Thaise groenten en rijst. Het was voldoende maar niet een overdreven grote portie.
Aankleding was Ok, niet echt gezellig, maar het eten maakte veel goed.

Niet de aller aller allerbeste van Amsterdam, maar wel zeker een zeer goede competitor!

De curry's zijn heerlijk! Maar weet je wat echt superrrrr lekker is?

De soepjes!! Jammie jammie. Kokos met garnalen, kip of vega, maakt niet uit. Allemaal even lekker. Even de stukken gember en citroengras er tussenuit vissen, dat dan weer wel.

5 eurotjes voor 1 portie.
Heerlijk voor de zondagmiddag als je toch al uitgebreid geborreld hebt.

The food was very good however the service was lacking. We were seated quickly and our order was taken. The food was delivered quickly however after that the staff got very busy with take away orders. I think we waited 30-40 minutes for our bill.

Heerlijk eten

Awesome little place. Our favorites are the red curry with chicken and beef with long green bean. Small restaurant but worth it for the excellent food and service.

We were staying very close to this restaurant and decided to eat there on our first night in Amsterdam – fantastic thai. Beef massaman was lovely, as was the pad thai and red chicken curry. Special mention for the chicken and prawn spring rolls and satay chicken, totally delicious. Reminded us of our favourite thai restaurant at home. Super fast service but we were there early, not sure what it would be like when the place was full.

We hebben daar met zijn tweeën gegeten en we zijn teleurgesteld in onze verwachtingen. De service was spijtig: Straalt geen sfeer uit, bediening is soms onduidelijk en het is vooral niet gezellig. Het eten was ‘oké’, maar niet meer dan dat. Prijs/kwaliteit voor ons niet meer voor herhaling vatbaar.

Is een van onze favoriete plekken geworden. Altijd goede kwaliteit.
